Fashion Tips
Fashion is something that changes from season to season. Summer seems to be the season when we’re more conscious of fashion trends. Designers are able to greatly influence what direction fashion will move in, producing designs that have the power to make a real social statement. Some designs seem to stay fashionable for years, whilst others are just a flash in the pan and go out of trend in no time.
There are lots of things to consider when choosing stylish fashion, like what’s hot and what’s not for your body shape. It’s no good choosing a style that’s not flattering for your figure. It’s amazing just how many people choose styles that they like instead of styles that compliment their figures. We all have something about our bodies that we don’t like, but with a few visual tricks we can make our problem areas disappear and feel confident about our bodies.
If you have a pear shaped body, try to accentuate your waist, shoulders and arms. Avoid anything too tight on your bottom half and go for a knee length A-line skirt to draw the attention away from your problem areas. Choose trousers that sit below your natural waistline, preferably with a straight or slightly bootcut leg, which can be more flattering. Avoid looser tops as they can make you look large all over, whereas tighter tops can make your upper body look out of proportion to your hips. Go for more fitted tops like ones that button down the front and ones that are not skintight. Choose jackets that don’t finish at the widest point of your hips and wear them open for the best vertical lines. Dresses that taper in towards the waist and slightly flair out over the hips and thighs are the best ones to choose.
If you have an apple shaped body, try to balance it out by wearing an A-line skirt that will give you more of an hour glass look. For trousers, flat fronted ones with no pleats would be best. Jeans with front pockets can help to disguise your tummy, whilst the back pockets can help to define a flatter bottom. Avoid any trousers or skirts too tight at all costs because they will only accentuate top heaviness. When choosing tops, go for ones with stretch for a better fit, preferably ones with v-necks, turtle necks, and collars to be more flattering around your neckline. Avoid full and puffy sleeves as these can also accentuate top heaviness. When choosing dresses, try to choose ones that show a little skin, arms or shoulders for example, as this can be much more flattering than covering them up. A strapless dress with a corseted top would be an ideal choice.
Whatever your shape and size, always choose colours that look great on you. If you’re not sure what those are, try holding outfits next to your face and choose the ones that compliment your complexion the most. And last but not least, always remember to choose flattering clothes for your figure as these will look much more complimentary than ones that are in fashion but don’t suit you.
